Water/Glycol Unit Coolers

Water/Glycol Unit Coolers

Features and Applications

Water-Glycol coolers are designed for commercial/industrial cold storage rooms and blast cooling rooms with small, medium, and large cooling capacities.

The Friterm GCS series are coolers that operate with single-direction air discharge, draw-through configuration, and can be ceiling-mounted as standard.

The GCDD series are coolers that operate with double-direction air discharge, blow-through configuration, and are mounted to the ceiling as standard.

Products equipped with three-phase fans, when operated in dual-speed mode, can provide rapid cooling at the initial stage, and then perform a cooling process aimed at reducing product loss with lower air circulation.

The Friterm GCS series consists of 606 models with a capacity range of 0.97 kW – 235 kW with a wide variety of accessory options.

It is suitable to operate with refrigerants such as water, ethylene glycol / propylene glycol, freezium, etc.

Coil Features
  • Straight tube arrangement that reduces defrost time and defrost energy consumption
  • Standard fin spacings of 4-7-10-12 mm
  • Copper / stainless steel (AISI 304) tubes, aluminum fins
  • Copper / stainless steel (AISI 304) inlet-outlet connections
Casing
  • Casing made of AlMg3 or magnelis coated steel depending on model and size
  • Electrostatic powder coated (RAL 9016) casing; smooth, durable, corrosion-resistant decorative structure
  • Support legs that facilitate transportation and installation of the product (except models with Ø300–350 mm fans)
Drain Pan
  • Removable drain pan for models with Ø630 mm and larger fan diameters
  • Hinged drain pan for models with Ø500 mm and smaller fan diameters
  • Special air-insulated drain pan structure preventing condensation on the outer surface
Fans
  • High-efficiency axial fans from Ziehl Abegg, EBM or equivalent brands are used in water-glycol coolers
  • Motor protection class is IP54 for Ø800–630–500–450 mm fans; IP44 for Ø400–350–300 mm fans; insulation class is B and F
  • Minimum operating temperatures are -25°C for single-phase fans and -40°C for three-phase fans
  • Special fans should be used for operating conditions below (-40°C)
  • As standard, 300/350/400/450 mm fans are 230V 1~50 Hz; 500/630/800 mm fans are 400V 3~50Hz
  • Three-phase fans are dual-speed as standard
  • Speed control in three-phase fans can be achieved by adding frequency inverter and sine filter
  • Thermistor connections used for protecting the fan motor must be made
  • Friterm reserves the right to use different fan brands; depending on this, partial differences may occur in fan information
