The Friterm NES series ammonia evaporators are specifically designed for medium and large-sized cold storage rooms, frozen storage facilities, blast chilling, and shock freezing applications.

The NES series stands out with its ceiling-mounted, single-discharge draw-through design, delivering powerful and efficient cooling performance.

Models equipped with three-phase fans offer dual-speed operation; providing rapid cooling with high airflow during start-up, followed by reduced air circulation to minimize product weight loss and ensure balanced cooling performance.

The Friterm NES series, enriched with a wide range of accessories, consists of 432 different models with capacities ranging from 3 kW to 250 kW, offering reliable and efficient solutions for industrial refrigeration applications.

Defrost Options

Hot Gas Defrost
Units are manufactured as standard to be compatible with hot gas defrost systems.
Thanks to the high heat transfer coefficient and compact tube arrangement, fast and efficient defrosting is achieved.
Optional hot gas piping circuit in the drain pan is available.

Fans

High-efficiency axial fans with diameters of 400 / 450 / 500 / 630 / 800 mm from Ziehl-Abegg, ebm-papst or equivalents are used in ammonia industrial air coolers.
Motor protection class: IP44 / IP54; insulation class: B / F
Minimum operating temperature:
Single-phase fans: -25°C
Three-phase fans: -40°C
Special fans must be used for operation below -40°C
Fans operate in draw-through configuration as standard
Standard electrical data:
400 / 450 mm: 230V / 1Ph / 50 Hz
500 / 630 / 800 mm: 400V / 3Ph / 50 Hz
Three-phase fans are dual-speed as standard; EC fans with speed control are optional
Stepless fan speed control can be achieved using frequency inverters and sine wave filters
Thermistor connections must be properly implemented to ensure motor protection under low temperature and high air resistance conditions
Airflow deflectors to increase air throw are optional
Friterm reserves the right to use different fan brands; technical specifications may vary accordingly
